This is the length used on every A series engine until the introduction of the sandwich plate when longer ones were required.
5/16″ unc and unf at nut end, this stud is about 5cm long about 4cm from the bottom of the UNC thread

If your thermostat has a sandwich plate under it, you will need these longer studs. The washers are # GFK1114 and the nuts are # FNZ505.
5/16″ bolt 3″long, unc bolt with unf nut end.
Also used as a differential housing to case stud.

Timing belt camshaft drive systems have been around for a number of years- in fact for a lot longer than the life expectancy of the belts.
