THROTTLE LINK – Coupling -Rod to Spindle, Carburettors
The AUC4334 Coupling is the flexible connector between sections of the carburettor throttle shaft(s) in the MGA. AKA “Accordion Clamp”. It is tortionally stiff on the rotational axis while being flexible in other directions (like a universal joint).
The clamping screw is a 4BA hex head bolt. There is a notch in one side of the clamp to prevent rotation of the bolt. Opposite side of the clamp is flat to accept the flat washer and 4BA hex nut. Suggest you install these parts with the bolt head down and hex nut on top for easy wrenching. If you remove the clamp from the shaft and leave the nuts loose, the screw can fall out of the open side of the clamp. Do try not to lose the odd fasteners.
